This Privacy Policy explains how SMS Plus / Dual Sim SMS Messenger 2020 ("SMS Plus", "the App", "we", "our", or "us") handles information when you use the App on Android or iOS. SMS Plus is a messaging and inbox-customization app designed to process messages and related content on your device. Platform features differ: Android uses Android telephony services, while the iOS version uses Apple system frameworks, including TelephonyMessagingKit where available and authorized.

Summary

SMS Plus does not sell your personal information. The App does not upload your SMS, MMS, RCS, contacts, message content, message attachments, call logs, or precise location to our servers. Message and contact data is used locally on your device so the App can provide supported messaging, inbox display, search, notifications, conversation management, and customization features. Some store versions offer optional purchases, subscriptions, or rewarded advertisements to unlock premium themes, live effects, or related customization features.

Information The App Can Access On Your Device

Depending on the features you use and the permissions you grant, SMS Plus may access the following types of data on your device:

How Information Is Used

The App uses information available on your device to provide core functionality, including:

Data Storage And Retention

SMS Plus stores message and customization data locally on your device as needed for the App to function. The App does not maintain a separate cloud copy of your messages on our servers. Data remains on your device until you delete it, clear the App data where supported, uninstall the App, or use Android, iOS, or device backup tools to remove it. Device-level backups are controlled by your operating-system and cloud-backup settings.

Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not share your SMS, MMS, contacts, message content, message attachments, call logs, or location with advertisers or data brokers.

Information may leave your device only in limited cases controlled by you or required for normal device operation, for example:

Advertising, Consent, Analytics, And In-App Purchases

SMS Plus does not sell user data for advertising. Store-specific releases differ. The iOS version uses Google Mobile Ads for inbox banner advertisements on the ad-supported plan and optional rewarded advertisements for premium-theme unlocks. Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) requests and stores applicable advertising consent choices when you choose the ad-supported plan. Rewarded advertisements are shown only after you choose the rewarded-unlock action. If you decline or close it before earning the reward, that theme remains locked; core messaging remains available.

Google and its advertising partners may process advertising consent choices, IP address, app and device information, diagnostic information, and ad interactions needed to select, deliver, secure, measure, and prevent abuse of advertisements, subject to your consent choices and device settings. SMS Plus does not send message bodies, attachments, contacts, recipient phone numbers, conversation titles, or call logs to the Google Mobile Ads or UMP SDKs. The current iOS version does not request Apple's AppTrackingTransparency permission and does not intentionally access the advertising identifier (IDFA).

You can revisit applicable advertising-consent choices through the "Advertising privacy options" entry in SMS Plus Settings when UMP requires that entry point. Google's description of how information is used for advertising is available at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

The Samsung Galaxy Store version currently disables third-party advertising and may use Samsung In-App Purchase to process optional premium subscriptions. Google Play releases may use Google Play Billing and approved advertising SDKs when those features are enabled for that store.

Purchase processing is handled by the applicable app-store payment provider, such as Samsung Galaxy Store, Google Play, or Apple. SMS Plus may use purchase identifiers, product identifiers, subscription status, and receipt-verification responses to unlock or restore premium access. We do not receive your full payment-card details from the store provider.

Optional iOS Usage And Crash Reporting (Version 1.0.1 And Later)

Before enabling Google Analytics for Firebase or Firebase Crashlytics, SMS Plus asks whether you want to share usage and crash data. This choice is optional and separate from advertising consent. If you decline, these services are not initialized. You can withdraw consent in Settings → Privacy by turning off “Share usage and crash data”. This stops future collection, resets the analytics installation identifier, and deletes unsent crash reports. Withdrawal does not automatically erase reports already received.

With your consent, we collect app-scoped installation identifiers, app and operating-system versions, device model, language, session activity, approximate geographic information derived from network information, and fixed-category events. These events describe onboarding steps, permission results, demo use, import progress and error categories, theme use, backup outcomes, message transport and send/receive success or failure, trial choices, verified purchase information, and optional feedback reasons. Crash reports include stack traces and limited application state. We use this data to improve the app, understand where setup fails, measure retention and assess advertising effectiveness.

This data is pseudonymous and associated with an installation, not described as anonymous. We do not provide message bodies, conversation titles, phone numbers, contact names, attachment contents, archive names, passwords, support email addresses or conversation identifiers to these services. Demo conversations are excluded from real-message activation metrics. The analytics integration disables IDFA and IDFV collection and personalized-ad signals.

Apple AdServices and Firebase may report whether an installation is attributed to an Apple Ads campaign, including campaign and keyword information when Apple makes it available. We do not join this information to support emails or track activity across other companies’ apps or websites. Apple provides aggregate app-deletion statistics for eligible users who share analytics with Apple; iOS does not tell SMS Plus when a particular person uninstalls or why. Optional feedback records only a voluntarily selected reason and is not proof of an uninstall.

Google processes analytics and crash information on our behalf. Our Google Analytics property retains detailed event data for two months and user-level data for fourteen months; new activity restarts the user-data retention period. Aggregate reports may remain available longer. Firebase Crashlytics retains crash information and related identifiers for 90 days before its deletion process begins. Information may be processed internationally under Google's applicable data-processing terms. See Firebase privacy and security and Google's Privacy Policy. You can contact us using the deletion-request details below.

Install Identifier And Apple Ads Attribution (Version 1.0.2 And Later)

Install identifier. When you first open SMS Plus, the app creates a random identifier and stores it only on your device, inside the app. It is not derived from your phone, your phone number, your Apple Account or your contacts, and deleting the app deletes it — reinstalling creates a new one. We use it for two things. When you buy a subscription, it is attached to the purchase so that Apple's purchase notifications tell us which installation a subscription belongs to; this is our record of our own sale and happens whether or not you allow analytics. And, only if you have allowed analytics, the app sends it once to our own server together with an Apple advertising-attribution token, so that we can learn which advertising campaign an installation came from.

Apple Ads attribution. If you allowed analytics, SMS Plus asks iOS for an Apple attribution token (Apple's AdServices) and sends a single request to our server containing that token, the random install identifier, the app build number and the word “ios”. Nothing else is sent: no messages, no contacts, no phone numbers and no advertising identifier. Our server exchanges the token with Apple for campaign information. This does not require the App Tracking Transparency permission and is not used to track you across other companies’ apps or websites. If you decline or later withdraw analytics consent, this request is never made.

Apple's App Store Server Notifications about your subscription (for example a trial start, a renewal, a cancellation or a refund) are received by our own server so that we can keep an accurate record of our sales. They contain Apple's transaction identifiers, the product, price, currency and storefront, and the install identifier described above; they never contain your name, payment details or messages.

Pricing experiments. When SMS Plus assigns an installation to a pricing experiment, it sends our server the random install identifier, app build number, pricing group (offer arm), experiment identifier and experiment version. It updates this record when the assignment changes or ends. We link the record to Apple's subscription notifications using the same install identifier to compare trial starts, first payments, renewals and refunds between pricing groups. This record is sent even if you decline optional usage analytics; it does not include an Apple Ads attribution token and is separate from the consent-based Apple Ads request above. It contains no messages, contacts, phone numbers, payment details or advertising identifier, and is not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Renewal Feedback (Version 1.0.7 And Later)

If you turn off automatic renewal of an SMS Plus subscription, the app may ask once, the next time you open it, why you turned it off. Answering is optional: you can choose one of the listed reasons or close the question. Only if you choose a reason, the app sends our server that reason together with the subscription plan (for example monthly), whether the subscription was in its free trial, whether it is still running or has ended, the pricing group you were offered, the App Store country, the app build number, and a random identifier created for that one answer so that a network retry is not counted twice. The answer does not include the install identifier described above, Apple's transaction identifiers, your name, messages, contacts, phone numbers, payment details or an advertising identifier, and it is not linked to you. It is sent whether or not you allow optional usage analytics, because you choose to send it; if you allowed analytics, the selected reason is also recorded as a usage event. We use these answers only to understand why people stop subscribing and to improve SMS Plus.

Permissions

SMS Plus requests platform permissions only to support messaging, privacy, and customization features. On Android, you can manage them in Android Settings. On iOS, you can manage contacts, photos, notifications, Face ID, and other granted access in iOS Settings. Carrier-messaging access on iOS is controlled by Apple entitlements, system availability, region eligibility, and your default-messaging-app choice. Some features may not work if required access is denied.

Children's Privacy

SMS Plus is not directed to children under 13 and is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us so we can review the issue.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect the App and limit unnecessary data transfer. Downloaded themes are accepted only from secure HTTPS locations, checked against their published SHA-256 digest, and unpacked using an allowlist of supported theme assets. No mobile app or communication system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Messages are also handled by Android or Apple system services, device manufacturers, mobile carriers, and recipient networks outside our control.

Your Choices

You can control your information by managing Android or iOS permissions, revisiting advertising-consent choices where available, deleting messages, clearing App data where supported, uninstalling the App, or using backup/export/delete features available in the App or operating system. For messages already sent to other people, deletion on your device does not remove copies from recipient devices or carrier systems.

Data Deletion Requests

SMS Plus does not create an app account. Most SMS Plus data, including messages, contacts shown in conversations, media attachments, and customization data, is stored locally on your device. You can delete this local data by deleting messages in the App, clearing App data where supported, uninstalling the App, or using Android/iOS system deletion tools.

To request deletion of app-related data that APLICATII ANDROID PLUS SRL may control outside your device, email contact@chrisbarin.com with the subject "SMS Plus data deletion request". Include the app name, package name, store where you installed the App, and any information needed to locate your request, such as the email address you used to contact support.

Data that may be deleted or anonymized includes support messages you send us and app-related analytics or crash diagnostic records associated with device or installation identifiers where technically available. Advertising data controlled by Google must be managed through the choices and request mechanisms provided by Google. Store payment records, subscription status, and receipts are handled by the applicable store provider, such as Samsung Galaxy Store, Google Play, or Apple; we may retain limited purchase verification, fraud prevention, security, compliance, tax, accounting, or legal records for as long as required by law or legitimate operational need.

We review deletion requests and delete or anonymize data we control within 90 days unless retention is required for legal, security, fraud prevention, accounting, dispute resolution, or compliance reasons.

International Users

The App may be used in different countries. If you use online features such as theme, sticker, or GIF downloads, technical request data may be processed in countries where hosting providers or content services operate.

Changes To This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App changes, when legal requirements change, or when we add, remove, or modify features. The updated version will be posted with a new "Last updated" date.
