Screen FX – Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 October 2026

Screen FX (Android package com.screenfx.app) is published by ThemeJunky (data controller; contact below). It shows charging animations, edge lighting, notification light alerts and an always-on style clock, with themes. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your data. See also the Terms of Use.

Everything happens on your device

Your selected theme, effect settings, the list of apps you chose for edge lighting, earned theme unlocks and your Premium status are stored in the app's private storage on the device. The app reads the battery state to show charging animations and the system always-on display state to avoid conflicts. Nothing from these features is uploaded. App backup is disabled.

Optional permissions, each with its own explanation before you grant it

You can revoke any of these in Android settings at any time; the related effect simply turns off.

Advertising

The free version shows ads through Google AdMob and its mediation partners (for example Liftoff Monetize and Meta Audience Network). Ad networks may process your device's advertising identifier, IP address, approximate location derived from it, and ad interactions, as described in the Google advertising policy and the partners' policies. Where required, a consent form is shown before ads are requested, and you can change your choice in the app settings (Privacy options). Ads are never shown inside effects or overlays. Premium removes ads.

Analytics and crash reports

The app uses Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics and Remote Config) to understand how the app is used and to fix crashes. The data is limited to anonymous usage events (for example: setup completed, effect enabled, theme applied), device model, Android version, app version, country and language, and crash stack traces. Analytics is configured without the advertising ID. No notification content or app list is ever included. We do not sell this data. Google's processing is described in the Google Privacy Policy and Firebase Privacy and Security. Analytics data is retained for 14 months and crash reports for 90 days.

Notifications from us

If you allow notifications, the app can show reminders about new themes and offers. Your device's push token is registered with our server (admin.chrisbarin.com) together with the app version, language and time zone, and is deleted when it becomes invalid or when you uninstall. You can turn these notifications off in the app settings.

Support

If you contact us from the app, your message, the e-mail you type and basic device information (model, Android version, app version, language) are sent to our support service so we can reply by e-mail.

Purchases

Screen FX Premium is sold as a monthly or yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase through Google Play Billing. We never see your payment details; purchase status is verified through Google Play on your device.

Children

The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13.

Samsung Galaxy Store and Huawei AppGallery

This section applies to com.screenfx.app.samsung on Samsung Galaxy Store and com.screenfx.app.huawei on Huawei AppGallery. For these Android editions, it takes precedence over store-specific statements elsewhere on this page.

Purchases. Galaxy Store builds use Samsung In-App Purchase (Samsung Electronics); AppGallery builds use HUAWEI IAP (Huawei/Aspiegel, depending on your region). Google Play Billing is not used. The app receives product IDs, purchase tokens or identifiers, receipts/signatures and purchase status to verify ownership, unlock Premium and restore purchases. The store handles payment details; we do not receive your card details. See the Samsung Privacy Policy and Huawei Privacy Statement and the notices shown by your store. Manage purchases and any subscriptions in the store where you bought them; uninstalling does not cancel subscriptions.

Ads. Galaxy Store builds use Google AdMob and Google UMP consent. The Samsung build also includes Liftoff Monetize (Vungle) mediation. AppGallery builds use AdMob with UMP when Google Play services are present, and Huawei Petal Ads with Huawei consent otherwise. Providers may process the Android advertising ID (AdMob), OAID (Petal), IP address, device information, ad interactions and diagnostics for ad delivery, measurement and fraud prevention. Use the app privacy/consent options where available, Android Settings → Privacy → Ads to reset/delete the advertising ID, or Huawei Settings → Privacy → Ads and privacy to reset OAID or limit personalized ads (names vary by device). See Google’s Privacy Policy, Huawei’s Privacy Statement and Liftoff’s Privacy Policy. The AppGallery build also packages the Liftoff AdMob adapter; the no-Google-services route uses Petal Ads. Meta Audience Network is not included in these OEM builds.

Analytics and push. On Galaxy Store and AppGallery builds, Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config, Performance Monitoring, Cloud Messaging and App Check are not used. The Firebase analytics, crash-reporting and push descriptions elsewhere on this page do not apply to these editions.

Permissions and online services. Notification access, overlays and camera permission for flashlight effects retain the local purposes described above; notification contents are not uploaded. These editions do not register push tokens or send messages to our support backend. Theme catalog/download requests and hosted configuration checks still contact our servers, which receive IP address and normal request data.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with an updated date.
